"Denim Day" Wear Jeans with a Purpose

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and Denim Day is a call to action for all people to come together by wearing denim as a great opportunity to speak out against sexual violence through education and awareness.

April 26, Wednesday has been declared “Denim Day”. In recognition of Sexual Awareness Month, Butterflies By Grace Defined By Faith is hosting an Awareness Event at Stew Pot Community Services, located at 1100 W Capitol St, Jackson MS on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Butterflies By Grace Defined By Faith is dedicated to helping some of the most vulnerable members of our community and fiercely committed to addressing the challenges of ending domestic violence and sexual assaultthrough education, advocacy, and coordination of services. We are currently accepting gently used denim jeans and white T-shirts for women and children to wear on Wednesday, April 26 in protest of what happened in Italy in 1997, and raise awareness about sexual assault and its myths and misconceptions. (Case overturned & perpetrator released because the victim wore very tight jeans).
Please donate to support our efforts to educate, advocate, and coordinate services in the community. Everyone is encouraged to wear blue jeans in recognition of “Denim Day”.

As always we’re here to help. Please contact us @ 601-896-2509 or with any questions or for help finding places to donate or volunteer.
